In November 2025, CareOrg team member Anna Oksiutovych participated in V Congress of the Sociological Association of Ukraine “Society and Sociology in an Exponential World: Research Challenges, Opportunities, Prospects”. The event was hosted by еhe V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University, but due to the situation of war the event took place in online format.

In November 2025, CareOrg team member Oksana Dutchak participated in the biannual MarxFem international conference. In 2025 the conference took place in Porto under the title “Decolonizing Bodies, Territories and Practices”.

The 8th Biennial Conference of the Czech Association for Social Anthropology (CASA) brought scholars from across Europe together in Pardubice under the theme “Ageing of Anthropology, Ageing in Anthropology.” CareOrg researchers contributed to the discussions through a joint panel exploring ageing, labour, and inequality across East and West.

In September 2025, CareOrg team member Oksana Dutchak took part in the annual Danyliw Research Seminar (University of Ottawa). During the event she presented the most recent research result which she, Anna Oksiutovych and Olena Fedyuk got on elderly care arrangements in Ukraine in the context of war.

In June 2025, CareOrg team members Noémi Katona, Dóra Gábriel, Neda Deneva, Ionut Földes and Mihaela Hărăguș presented their research at the Transforming Care Conference 2025, held in Helsinki from 25–27 June 2025. The conference takes place every two years and brings together international care researchers to examine how care for children, older people, and adults with disabilities is being transformed in policy and practice.

In June 2025, CareOrg team member Oksana Dutchak took part in the round table “Towards feminist (post)-war reconstruction: circuits of violence, war economies and socio-economic inequalities in the region(s)” within the annual RUTA conference. It was the second conference of the RUTA network, organized in Carpathian Mountains in Ukraine, under the title “Imagination: New Visions and Connections”.

The 17th International Congress of the International Society for Ethnology and Folklore took place at the University of Aberdeen, Scotland, from 3–6 June 2025, hosted by the Elphinstone Institute for Ethnology, Folklore and Ethnomusicology. Our PhD student, Roxana Fiebig-Spindler, attended and presented her research in the form of a lecture entitled 'Qualifications and training of transnational migrant care workers from Poland in Germany: (un)written narratives and ethnographic (un)writing'.

In May 2025, Noémi Katona, Oksana Dutchak, Neda Deneva, Mihaela Haraguș, Ionut Földes and Dóra Gábriel as members of the CareOrg team participated in the international conference “Capitalist Transformations in Eastern and Central Europe”, held from 19–23 May 2025. The online conference brought together scholars from across Europe to discuss ongoing social, political, and economic transformations in the region.

On May 21, 2025, Dr. Ewa Palenga-Möllenbeck participated in the public panel discussion “Welcome to the Allgäu? Global Migration and Local Needs in Care Work”, hosted by the Faculty of Social Work and Health at Kempten University of Applied Sciences. The event explored the complex intersection of global migration trends and regional care labor demands.

On July 3, 2024, at the IMISCOE 21st Annual Conference in Lisbon, Dr. Ewa Palenga-Möllenbeck (Goethe University Frankfurt) presented her talk “Skills as a New Commodity and Policy Issue in Transnational Senior Care” as part of the panel “The Complexities of Care Mobility in Times of Social Transformations.”

Petra Ezzeddine and Maroš Matiaško from the Czech/Slovak team and Ewa Palenga-Möllenbeck and Roxana Fiebig-Spindler from the German/Polish team took part in the internatial conference 'Imaginaries and Strategies for Good Care and Good Housing in Times of Transformation' (May 23–24, 2024) at the Vienna University of Economics and Business, organized by the Research Project “DOC-team 114: The Contested Provisioning of Care and Housing”.

Our colleague Dóra Gábriel took part in the conference 'Transformative Change in the Contested Fields of Care and Housing' at the Johannes Kepler University Linz, which took place from 4–6 December 2023, and held a lecture entitled 'Carefare regime in the elderly care in Hungary – Traditional and new actors in a transforming market'.

Our colleague Oksana Dutchak held a public lecture entitled 'War, Neoliberal State Policy and Gender in Ukraine' at the University in Basel, Switzerland. The lecture was organized by the Center for Gender Studies & Interuniversitary Doctoral Program Gender Studies Switzerland (IDP) in cooperation with the Slavic Department.

Our colleague Petra Ezzeddine held a lecture entitled 'It’s Very Convenient for Us, They Work and Live Right Here in the Seniorhouse.' Complexities of Accommodating Ukrainian Care Workers in Senior Care in the Czech Republic at the workshop 'Social Reproduction of Labour. The Place of Accomodation and Migration'. The workshop took place from 26-27 October 2023 at the University of Padova.

Our colleague Petra Ezzedine held a lecture entitled 'Gratitude or Solidarity? Domestic Work in the Humanitarian Arena in the Czech Republic' at the 7th Biennial Conference of the Czech Association for Social Anthropology (CASA) at the Charles University in Prague, which took place 6–8 October, 2023.

Our colleagues Petra Ezzeddine and Noémi Katona took part in the conference on Non-Capitalist Mixed Economies (Wars, Non-Capitalist Mixed Economies and Socialism) ’ at the Karl Polanyi Research Centre, ROS in Budapest and each held a lecture.

Our colleague Petra Ezzeddine took part in the 16th World SIEF (International Society for Ethnology and Folklore) Congress with the title 'Living Uncertainity' in Brno, Czech Republic, which took place from 7-10 June 2023 and held a lecture about 'Care Bonds in Pandemic Times'.

Our colleague Ewa Palenga-Möllenbeck participated in the panel 'Future of Cross-border Live-In Care Services' on April 24, 2023 at the 7th European Labour Mobility Congress in Cracow, where she gave a short keynote speech alongside other selected experts.

Our colleague Olga Gheorghiev held a lecture entitled 'The plurality of logics behind migration governance: Ukrainian migrant and refugee women in the Czech Republic' at the International Labour Process Conference with the Special Theme: 'Fair and Decent Work in the Global Economy?', which took place from 12th - 14th April 2023 at the University of Strathclyde, Glasgow.

Our colleagues Petra Ezzeddine, Dóra Gábriel, Kristine Krause, Ewa Palenga-Möllenbeck each held a lecture at the symposium: 'Care Migration- Care Marketization: Reflections on a Complex Interplay' at the Johannes Kepler University in Linz, Austria, March 23 - 24, 2023. The international Symposium was organized by Brigitte Aulenbacher and Wasana Handapangoda within the Research Project '‘Ideal‘ Migrant Subjects: Domestic Service in Globalization'.

Our colleague Oksana Dutchak held an online lecture entitled 'Care labor in Ukraine before, during and after the war' within the lecture series 'Ukraine: life and resistance in a society attacked by Russian imperialism' by the University of Salzburg. The discussed questions were: How did governmental policies in care sectors shape gender inequality in the society? What was the role of networks and unions in these sectors? How all these influence society during the war and the vision of the future reconstruction?
