Transforming Care Conference 2025

In June 2025, CareOrg team members Noémi Katona, Dóra Gábriel, Neda Deneva, Ionut Földes and Mihaela Hărăguș presented their research at the Transforming Care Conference 2025, held in Helsinki from 25–27 June 2025. The conference takes place every two years and brings together international care researchers to examine how care for children, older people, and adults with disabilities is being transformed in policy and practice.

In June 2025, CareOrg team member Oksana Dutchak took part in the round table “Towards feminist (post)-war reconstruction: circuits of violence, war economies and socio-economic inequalities in the region(s)” within the annual RUTA conference. It was the second conference of the RUTA network, organized in Carpathian Mountains in Ukraine, under the title “Imagination: New Visions and Connections”.

The 17th International Congress of the International Society for Ethnology and Folklore took place at the University of Aberdeen, Scotland, from 3–6 June 2025, hosted by the Elphinstone Institute for Ethnology, Folklore and Ethnomusicology. Our PhD student, Roxana Fiebig-Spindler, attended and presented her research in the form of a lecture entitled 'Qualifications and training of transnational migrant care workers from Poland in Germany: (un)written narratives and ethnographic (un)writing'.
