The 2025 Transforming Care Conference from University of Helsinki was organized under the theme “Social and Human Rights in Care.” This focus reflects growing international debates on care as a matter of social rights and human rights, particularly in long-term care for older people. The conference is a meeting point for care researchers in social sciences, who are studying care issues from many different perspectives and geographical regions.
Noémi Katona and Dóra Gábriel presented on "What makes a home-based carer professional? Skills regime in care for older people in Hungary.”
Neda Deneva contributed through her presentation on: "Transformation of Elderly Care in Romania: Shifting Boundaries of Family, Market, and State Responsibility."
Lastly, Ionut Földes and Mihaela Hărăguș presented on: "Examining Elderly Vulnerabilities and Support Arrangements in Romania."
