Transforming Care Conference 2025

In June 2025, CareOrg team members Noémi Katona and Dóra Gábriel presented their research at the Transforming Care Conference 2025, held in Helsinki from 25–27 June 2025. The conference takes place every two years and brings together international care researchers to examine how care for children, older people, and adults with disabilities is being transformed in policy and practice.

The 2025 Transforming Care Conference from University of Helsinki was organized under the theme “Social and Human Rights in Care.” This focus reflects growing international debates on care as a matter of social rights and human rights, particularly in long-term care for older people. The conference is a meeting point for care researchers in social sciences, who are studying care issues from many different perspectives and geographical regions.

Noémi Katona and Dóra Gábriel presented on "What makes a home-based carer professional? Skills regime in care for older people in Hungary.”
