Care Is …. is a podcast series stemming from the work of 2 research networks: CareOrg and ReloCare. Both networks look at the intersection of elderly care and mobility in Europe.

While international emergency relief organisations often use an image of children and women as iconic war victims, we ask how Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine and war economy affects the life of senior citizens, especially those in need of care.

Discussing an example from rural Hungary we look into the ways in which village communities organize care for older people and how they go about patching the lack of central state support in this area.
