As always, the two and a half days were packed and intensive. We kicked off with a day dedicated to presentations by the authors contributing to our upcoming special issue in Social Inclusion, scheduled for publication next year. We were grateful to receive valuable feedback from our guest researchers and advisory board members, Dr. Zuzana Uhde and Dr. Zuzana Sekeráková Búriková.
In addition, we were joined by guests from Austria: anthropologist Silvia Wojczewski from the Medical University of Vienna and leader of the MigraCare project, and activist Simona Ďurišová from the association IG24 – Initiative for Justice in Personal Care in Austria. They shared insights from their applied project work and offered us a glimpse into the everyday activities of the initiative.
Siënna Hernandez from the Amsterdam team and Kristína Bartošová from the Prague team presented their transnational student collaboration. They spoke about their joint fieldwork, which involved visiting brokerage agencies employing Slovak care workers in the Netherlands.
Naturally, we also discussed next steps, upcoming publications, conferences, and future projects. At the same time, we made space for some well-deserved breaks, including a relaxation session led by Alice Červinková during one of our workshops.
Our wonderful hosts in Prague, Petra Ezzeddine and Maroš Matiaško, supported by Kristína Bartošová, ensured we had a memorable visit with excellent food and enriching conversations. Our former team member from the Prague team, Jolana Miličičová, also joined us for dinner on the last evening, which was very nice. We're already looking forward to our next meeting!
