In two very intensive days of working together we have managed to talk through the most crucial developments of our project, as well as the planning of our future activities and cooperation. Since the beginning of the project, January 2023, each national team has been working on desk research concerning the main trends in senior care. We have discussed the differences and commonalities of the national care, gender, migration regimes and reflected on how these define the main trends in the marketization of senior care. We had two invited guests at our meeting, Éva Fodor from Hungary and Francesca Vianello from Italy, who gave us remarkably valuable feedback on our project. We have also started to work on our first joint publication and are looking forward to finalizing it in the next months.
This hard work has taken place in a strikingly friendly and welcoming atmosphere. We have expressed our aim to create a democratic and supportive working environment and create a space where we all feel comfortable and can learn from each other. We are all already looking forward to our next personal meeting in Cluj the next spring!
