Ageing of Anthropology, Ageing in Anthropology - 8th CASA Biennial Conference

The conference asked a timely set of questions: How has anthropology changed through decades marked by financial crises, migration upheavals, climate anxiety, pandemics, and war? How do these transformations shape our methods, our institutions, and the ways we work together across generations?

CareOrg was represented in the panel “Spectres of Orientalism in an Unequal Europe? Ageing of, in and across East and West,” chaired by Matouš Jelínek and Kristine Krause (CareOrg). There the researchers contributed insights from ongoing work on transnational care, labour mobility, and the politics of ageing.

Ewa Palenga-Möllenbeck presented "Intersections of Privilege and Otherness: How Do They Make Invisible the Input of Migrant Care Work?", whereas Petra Ezzeddine focused her contrubution around "Hierarchies and Solidarities within the Borderscapes of Care in Central and Eastern Europe".
