Acts of Care

Across Austria, migrant live-in carers look after elderly people in private homes, often working long hours while remaining invisible to the wider public. Working with the workers' association IG24 and InterACT’s forum theatre, caregivers transform personal experiences into the participatory theatre project Shared Lives. Developed through workshops in Austria and Romania, the production brings carers’ stories of exhaustion affection, conflict, and resilience to the stage. Acts of Care reveals how art collective organising, and solidarity can challenge precarious care systems and create political visibility.
